Erika De La Castro
Relational Therapy
Hi! My name is Erika, and I am here to help you get started on your healing journey.
I specialize in helping couples work through rough patches, and I have a passion for helping women who have been diagnosed with ADHD. In my work, I combine various techniques to help you get relief quickly while also digging deep to heal old wounds.
Counseling Services
Couples Therapy / Infidelity
With experience in relationship counseling, I guide couples through difficult times and help them achieve lasting positive change. In couples therapy, we will hash out any recurring conflicts and learn skills to better manage conflict in the future. We will practice vulnerability and honesty to create a relationship full of trust and respect. Whether you are recently married, or have been married for 30 years, I am here to help.
WOmen/Girls diagnosed with adhd
I help women and girls (age 14+) accept, understand, and thrive with an ADHD diagnosis. ADHD has so much stigma and is widely misunderstood and missed in females. I am passionate about helping women better understand themselves and how to prosper in the world around them. In therapy, we will seek out your strengths, learn to cope with your difficulties, and create habits that help you flourish in your every day life.
General Therapy
As a marriage and family therapist, I offer comprehensive therapy services for individuals, couples, and families. Whatever is blocking your path, I am ready to help you face it. I believe the therapeutic relationship is key to successful therapy. During a free consultation, we will discuss your goals and explore if I am the best therapist to support your journey. If not, I can happily connect you with a qualified colleague who specializes in your specific needs.
Frequently asked questions
WHAT DOES THE FIRST THERAPY SESSION LOOK LIKE?
Before our first session, I will send you some paperwork to fill out to give me a better idea of what you are needing from me. This helps me prepare for our first session! In the first session, I will ask you lots of questions to make sure I really understand who you are and what you are hoping to get out of therapy. There will also be time at the end of the session for you to ask me questions!
HOW LONG DOES THERAPY TAKE?
This totally depends! Therapy is a commitment and an investment, both of which require time for the magic to really happen. Humans are tricky- we don’t work on timelines. For some people, it takes a while to gain trust before we can get to the real work. For others, they dive right in and therapy is completed in only a few months. I encourage clients to see me either weekly, or biweekly because I find when I see clients less often, we spend more of the session catching up than we do working towards our goals. Together, we will set goals for your therapy. As we work through those goals, I will check in frequently to see how you are feeling about the process. Once we have met your therapy goals, we will either set a new therapy goal, or you will graduate from therapy! Your therapy is for you. I am here to walk alongside you as you heal, grow, and flourish.
WHO DO YOU TREAT?
I specialize in treating couples who are encountering difficulties in their relationship. I specialize in helping clients work through the aftermath of an affair. I also am passionate and specialize in treating women/girls who have recently been diagnosed with ADHD. Even if you do not fall into either of those categories, please reach out to see if we are a good fit. If not, I would be more than happy to help you find someone who specializes in what you need!
WHERE DO YOU OFFER SESSIONS?
I offer sessions in my office which is located in downtown Louisville, CO. My office is in a cute little house that has been renovated into a commercial space. Also, it is located next to a great bakery for an after-session treat! :) I also offer sessions online for those who live in Colorado, but who are a little too far from Louisville.
WHAT IF I’M SCARED TO START THERAPY?
Everyone is scared to start therapy! I am a therapist, and every time I start my own personal therapy, even I feel a little nervous. Let’s face it- therapy is kind of weird! You sit in a strange room and tell a complete stranger your innermost thoughts and feelings. It makes total sense that you would feel a little uneasy about starting that process. What I can tell you though, is that I truly believe it is worth it. It probably will be a little awkward at first, and it may take a little time for you to warm up, but once we really get going, I bet you’ll be glad you did it.
P.S. If you’re nervous about starting therapy, let me know! We can chat (and joke) about it and I will do my best to make you feel as comfortable as I can.
